LOPD COVID-19 Statement

The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH), on March 31, 2023, issued a Final Order rescinding and withdrawing all Public Health Orders related to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. In its Final Order, the NMDOH indicated that because we now have effective tools to combat the spread of COVID-19, such as vaccination, home-based testing, and other tools, that the NMDOH rescinded all COVID-19 related Public Health Orders that were previously in place. However, it also indicated that current NMDOH guidance documents and advisories related to COVID-19 remain in effect.

The Governor of the state of New Mexico, Michelle Grisham Lujan, in Executive Order 2023-0036, issued on March 3, 2023, indicated that the primary Executive Order (EO) related to the COVID-19 public health emergency and related EO’s remained in effect until March 31, 2023, at which point, they expired.

While the NMDOH and the state of New Mexico have rescinded Orders concerning the Public Health Emergency related to COVID-19, it remains a part of our everyday lives. The LOPD administration is concerned about the health and safety of our employees and clients. Please refer to LOPD COVID-19 Guidance Effective May 10, 2023 for our current plans, which will be updated as needed.
